Bring your whole family to Ecola State Park where you can explore picturesque cliffside views of haystack rock, dense forests and real spots from famous films like Twilight (perfect for those with Zillennial offspring!). Clatsop Loop Trail

The park’s network of trails includes an 8-mile segment of the Oregon Coast Trail, and a historical interpretive route called the Clatsop Loop Trail. Follow in the footsteps of the Corps of Discovery (aka Lewis & Clark) and get a glimpse into the past. Keep an eye out for herds of Roosevelt Elk grazing in the meadows that make you forget you are steps from the Pacific. While there may be a small parking fee ($5 for the day), the enchanting beauty and the opportunity to explore make it well worth the cost.

This 2.3-mile out-and-back trail winds its way through the lush flora and fauna, immersing you into the old-growth forest before emerging on a beach that’s only accessible by hike.
